Conveyors are mechanical devices used to move small or large items or packages with minimal effort from one place to another. They usually consist wheels or belts and may be motor powered or manual devices.
They are used to move bulk or single material too. The belt conveyors are used in
- Transferring and
- Lifting material,
- Vibrating conveyors that use vibratory motion to move material, and
- Overhead conveyors from which items hang during transport.
1. Ball Transfer Conveyor :
Ball Transfer Conveyors are material handling systems. It uses a series of mounted ball casters to allow for unpowered, multi-directional conveyance of the result. Key features include the intended application, load capacity, ball material and size, as well as the overall conveyor length and width. Ball transfer conveyors are mostly used in material handling applications such as assembly lines and packaging lines, among others. The ball transfer conveyor comes in many sizes and load carrying capacities.

2. Belt Conveyors
Belt Conveyors are material handling systems that convey products or material from one point to another point using belt. Key features include the intended application, belt type, load capacity, conveyor length and width, as well as electrical features as required. Belt conveyors can be used in material handling usage such as food services, baggage handling, packaging, scrap handling, and postal service, among many more. Belt conveyors might be metals and non-metals depending on the application requirements. Belt conveyors are typically powered by the motor and can be operated at various speeds depending on the required processing.

3. Bucket Type Conveyors
Bucket Conveyors are multi-sided containers attached to cables or chains to transfer products or materials. Key specifications include the intended application or conveyed product, configuration, bucket and load capacity, throughput, as well as the electrical requirements. Bucket conveyors are used in applications such as
- Conveying Parts,
- Conveying Bulk material, or
- Food handling.
The processed and processing conveyed material can be liquid or dry such as sludge, sand, manure, sugar, etc. or relatively light materials or product. The systems can be used horizontally or can be inclined to change levels of the delivered products. There are different bucket type conveyor depending on sizes and load carrying capacities .

4. Chute Type Conveyors
Chute Conveyors are material handling systems that use gravity method to convey product along smooth surfaces from one level to another in the vertical direction. Key features include the intended application, load capacity, and chute material, as well as the physical dimensions such as length and chute width. Chute conveyors are mostly used for scrap handling, packaging, postal service, etc. Since their chutes are smooth, it allows the product to slide easily and can be straight or curved depending on the application.

5. Screw Type Conveyors
These are helical elements to convey products from one location to the another location. Key features include the conveyor type and configuration, load capacity, throughput, and length, as well as the required electrical requirements. Screw conveyors are basically used in material handling applications including food handling, concrete, and chemicals, among others. Screw conveyors can also convey various mechanical parts. A typical example of this type of conveyor can be seen in bottling applications to convey the bottles discretely. The screw can be of a paddle or ribbon design depending on the application and can be determined via a chain and sprocket, gears, or direct drive. Materials used for making screw type conveyors can be metal or non-metal depending on the media being conveyed.
